Isaiah 43:1-11
1 But now, this is what the LORD says—he who created you, O Jacob,
       he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

3 For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.

4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life.

5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.

6 I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth-

7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."

8 Lead out those who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf.

9 All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of them foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say, "It is true."

10 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.

11 I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.

INTRODUCTION

Fear/worry - Means being anxious, troubled or uneasy.  To be afraid about a possible or probable situation or event.

Concern - something that interests you because it is important or affects you; "the safety of the ship is the captain's concern"

With concern, we evaluate a situation and determine what our action should be in the matter to achieve the best outcome.

With fear or worry, we put our faith in what MIGHT happen, thus removing our faith from God.

True concern is used for good decision making, while fear and worry is a sin because we remove our faith in the power of what God can do, and place it on what might happen.

We live in a fearful world. We live in a fearful time.

Over 60 times God tells us to “Fear not”.

GOD GIVES US 10 REASONS NOT TO FEAR IN ISAIAH 43

I.                   I have created you. Vs. 1 & vs. 7
a.      Psalms 100:3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

b.     We must remember that God created us and knows what is best for us.
                                                                         i.      He created us for His Pleasure
ii.      He created us for His purpose
iii.      He created us for His praise

c.      We should not fear, because our Creator is all sufficient….
                                                                         i.      To meet any need
                                                                      ii.      To meet any crises

d.     We should not fear, but remember who He, our Creator is.

II.               I have redeemed you. Vs. 1
a.      Redemption means that God has paid something for us.

                                                                         i.      1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
1.      Why does Satan want us to destroy our bodies?
a.      Tattoo’s, piercings, modifications, mutilations, cutting...it is so we DIS-honor our bodies.

ii.      Titus 2:11-14  11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
1.      glorious appearing is the rapture
2.      this is when we receive our incorruptible and immortal bodies.
3.      UNTIL THEN, because Christ paid the price and redeemed us, He has given us the ability to say no to ungodliness, and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age!

b.     He paid for us with the blood of His Son.
                                                                         i.      Hebrews 9:12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.

ii.      When Jesus died on the cross, he paid the price for your sin, thus redeeming you.

iii.      Since He paid for you…He now owns you.

FEAR NOT!

III.            I have called you by thy name. Vs 1
a.      He knows you by name.

                                                                         i.      Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

c.      Love demonstrated.
                                                                         i.      Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

ii.      1 John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

3.      He is Omnipresent (everywhere)
4.      He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
5.      The Creator
6.      Our redeemer.

CONCLUSION

Fear / Worry is putting faith into what might happen instead of putting your faith in God.

The scriptures tell us in Proverbs 9:10 that “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

Let us put our faith in God, knowing that He is in control of all things.

Nothing can happen without His approval!

Event the devils must still obey His Word!

Put your faith in Christ and the Cross, for it is your salvation!
